ANNOUNCEMENTS

Seven Class Reunion 1975-1981

The multi-year reunion scheduled for this summer, August 6 - 8, 2010 has been expanded to include 1975 and '76, since it is the 35th reunion for the class of '75.  Please spread the word.

Sign-Up Tabs Activated for Extra Activities

Please look at the new "sign-up" tabs on the left column of the home page.  You will be able to register for the Lions Club Lobster/Clam feed (alternate steak or chicken) and The Belfast Masker's Production of "Big River" (Huck Finn) on Friday afternoon, August 6, 2010, plus register for the offerings for Sunday morning, August 8, 2010. The prices are listed, or will be determined by how many sign-up.

Also, current BAHS Art Teacher and Yearbook Adviser, Heidi O'Donnell has graciously agreed to create a 10-15 minute montage video for the seven class (1975 - 1981) reunion which will be shown during the variety show on Saturday evening, August 7, 2010.  Heidi, along with volunteer students from The Photography Class, will produce a DVD highlighting the historical events that took place during the sixties and seventies, revisit the significant places in Belfast at that time of our youth, include the music of our era and of course, pictures starring                members from the seven classes while walking the halls of BAHS (and dodging water buckets).   After the variety show, Heidi and her students will have DVD's available for a suggested donation of $10-$15, which will benefit The BAHS Photography Class.

If you think you would be interested in purchasing a montage video DVD for a keepsake to take home with you, please sign up so The Photography Class will have some idea of how many copies they should produce and have on hand.

 Official Belfast School District Website

Below is the link to the Consolidated School System (RSU #20) which includes Belfast and also a link to the Belfast Area High School's official website.  Both sites have an up-to-date calendar of events page that will keep you abreast of what is going on and maybe something will interest people enough to attend and/or support.

Alumni Owned Businesses and Services Page with Links

I am planning on creating a page where "Alumni Owned Businesses and Services" can be listed, including a website link.  The Belfast Area High School Alumni Association hopes to create the feeling of an extended family between all alumni.  Regardless of what class you graduated in, you are part of something so much larger: a school, a town, a community.   Therefore, if alumni are made aware that a fellow BAHS graduate owns and operates a business or service, then they will be able to make an informed consumer decision to support it with their spending dollars.

So, please send all pertinent information:  alumni name and  year, name of alumni owned business, location, website address, business e-mail address and a short paragraph about the goods or services available.  Send to: blueandgold@tidewater.net

Name the Quarterly Newsletter

Please check out the tab to the left called "Alumni Association".  The launching of the quarterly newsletter begins with the Spring 2010 issue.  But, we need your help in naming it!  Please check out the tab and offer your ideas.
